IAPH Ports Conference in Indonesia

The 30th IAPH World Ports Conference will take place in Bali, Indonesia, on 7-12 May 2017 at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC).

Under the main conference theme of “Enabling Trade. Energizing The World”, this event aims to bring together all stakeholders in discussing various maritime issues and its solutions in order to deliver positive impacts for global maritime transport.

A wide range of issues with regards to development and management in port and maritime business in challenging global environment will be presented and discussed at the conference, including certain issues faced by port officials globally such as green port and port technology as well as development of ports, the official announcement stated.

At this event, Rene Kolman, Secretary General of IADC, will be presenting on the topic of “Ecosystem Services”.

The Secretary General will highlight the concept of ES, present a case study on Botany Bay in Sydney, Australia and explain how the concept could be an important tool for achieving broad public support for ports and dredging projects.
