Jan De Nul has just announced that the EUR17 million Knokke and Wenduine beach replenishment projects are successfully completed.

Almost one million cubic meters of sand was reclaimed to restore the damage caused by storm Dieter, Jan De Nul said.

This project was conduced by the joint venture ‘Noordzee en Kust’, of which Jan De Nul is part.

JDN’s trailing suction hopper dredger Alexander von Humboldt was mobilized to execute this coastal protection scheme.

Young CEDA Belgium recently organized a visit to the Knokke dredging and beach replenishment site. During the visit, the Young CEDA members witnessed the vessel discharging a load of sand on the beach and the program continued with some presentations on Belgium’s future coastal ideas and general information on dredging.
