Overview of John Redmond Reservoir Dredging Project (VIDEO)

Kansas Water Office (KWO) yesterday released a video of the John Redmond Reservoir Dredging Project.

The project is the first of its kind in the nation with a non-federal entity dredging sediment from a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir.

The contractor, Great Lakes Dredge and Dock (GLDD), completed the dredging works on the project in late 2016.

During the project, three million cubic yards of sediment was removed from the reservoir and placed in confined disposal facilities on USACE land and private property.

Following the completion and dewatering, these disposal sites were returned to their respective landowners.
