King Company Wins Grand Haven Harbor Dredging Contract

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, has awarded a contract for the Grand Haven (Outer) Harbor dredging project to the King Company from Holland, Michigan.

Under this $208,000 contract, King will remove 35,000 cubic yards of material from the harbor and place the dredged materials near shore for beach nourishment.

Dredging is expected to be complete by mid-July, USACE said.

“The Grand Haven harbor facilitates vessels carrying important commodities. We are proud of our partnership and mission to aid commercial navigation in that area,” said Lt. Col. Dennis Sugrue, district engineer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District.

Grand Haven is a federally designated harbor of refuge and home to the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Grand Haven Station.
