USPA to Dredge Mariupol New Berths

Ukrainian Seaports Authority (USPA) and the State Enterprise “Mariupol Commercial Sea Port” have signed an agreement on cooperation for the construction of a grain terminal in the rear of berths No. 3-4.

As part of the agreement, USPA will reconstruct the berthage and carry out dredging near berths 3-4 to ensure the construction of a future grain terminal. Ukrainian Seaports Authority always supports constructive proposals aimed at attraction of an additional cargo flows and our activity in Mariupol seaport confirms this,” said the Head of USPA Raivis Veckagans.

After reconstruction the berths No. 3-4 will have to the following characteristics: Berth 3 with the length of 145m and depth of 9.75m; Berth 4 with the length of 234m and depth of 9.75m.

USPA reported that launching of the new terminal is scheduled for the end of 2018. The reconstruction of the berthage infrastructure is scheduled to be completed by mid-2019.

The modernized berthage will be launched in several stages to ensure the smooth operation of the new complex.
