Heinen & Hopman announced recently that it will supply the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) for a new, custom-built Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD), to be built by Royal IHC for the Administración Nacional de Puertos in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The basic design and detailed engineering of the vessel will be supplied by IHC’s head office in the Netherlands as well as the highly complex dredging parts and equipment.

The construction and commissioning of the vessel will take place in Uruguay, enhancing IHC and Heinen & Hopman footprint in Latin America.

Royal IHC has developed over 250 highly efficient custom-built TSHDs for all kinds of dredging requirements. This includes port and river maintenance, land reclamation, aggregate dredging, beach nourishment and construction work.

Heinen & Hopman will supply the air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, mechanical ventilation exhaust and central heating for this project.
