Dredging Underway at Ust-Luga Port and Big Port St. Petersburg

Dredging fleet of Rosmorport’s North-Western Basin Branch, numbering four vessels, is conducting maintenance dredging work in the Ust-Luga Port and Big Port St. Petersburg areas, said Rosmorport in its latest release.

According to Rosmorport, TSHD Kronshlot is currently working at the Petrovsky fairway of the Big Port St. Petersburg.

More than 29,000m³ of bottom material has been excavated and transported to the underwater dump area. With removal of additional 5,000m³ of material, set to be completed this October, the bottom level will be -11m.

TSHD Sommers is deployed at the Northern access canal to Ust-Luga seaport, with non-self-propelled backhoe dredger Vaka Nami Go and hopper barge Fort operating at the mouth of the Luga river. More than 65,000m³ of material has been excavated and transported to the underwater dump area so far.

Additional 20,000m³ of material will be dredged by the end of October with the bottom level to reach the mark of -17.5m and the turning area of the access canal to be expanded to 46m.
