Butler Beach Dedication Ceremony Set for August 26

The Berkeley Township will officially cut the ribbon on the newly revamped Butler Beach in Bayville, NJ, on August 26, 2017, the town said in its latest announcement.

According to the Berkeley Township press release, the beach, which was one of the many Ocean County victims of Superstorm Sandy, has been going through extensive renovations since the storm.

During the construction of an engineered beach, another 740 cubic yards of sand were placed onto the beach at the end of Butler Boulevard.

“The beach will also have a longer life expectancy than standard beach replenishment projects,” Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. said.

The new beach will be dedicated at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the ceremony on the bay at the end of Butler Boulevard. The beach was a gift to the township from former Mayor Marcus C. Butler and his wife Grace Rogers Butler.
