USACE: Aliso Creek Study Available for Review

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has released the Draft Integrated Feasibility Report for the Aliso Creek Mainstem Ecosystem Restoration Study for review and comment, and gives notice of a public meeting to be held during the next month in Laguna Hills.

In cooperation with Orange County Public Works, the Corps announces a 45-day review period ending November 13 for interested parties to provide comment on the “Draft Integrated Feasibility Report Including Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement for the Aliso Creek Mainstem Ecosystem Restoration Study, Orange County, CA.”

The study evaluates opportunities for restoring degraded aquatic and riparian ecosystem structure and function, riverine and floodplain system connectivity, stream channel stability and protection of critical public infrastructure, including both regional water supply and wastewater conveyance pipelines along the lower Aliso Creek Mainstem in Orange County.

As part of the public involvement process, the Corps’ Los Angeles District will hold a public review meeting on October 17, from 6-9 p.m. at the Laguna Hills Community Center and Sports Complex.
