Inland Dredging Wins $10.1M Sabine-Neches Contract

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently awarded a $10.1 million contract to Inland Dredging Company, LLC, for maintenance dredging of the Sabine-Neches Waterway.

According to the FedBizOpps (FBO), the project includes dredging of the Sabine-Neches Waterway, Port Arthur Canal junction area and Sabine Pass Channel in Jefferson and Orange Counties (TX) and Cameron Parish (LA).

During the works approximately 2,489,000 cubic yards of dredged material will be removed from the waterways.

The Corps expects dredging to start in mid-October with the completion set for Jun, 2018.

The Sabine–Neches Waterway is located in southeast Texas and Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, United States. The waterway includes parts of the Neches River, Sabine River, Sabine Lake, and Taylor Bayou.

The waterway ranks as third-busiest waterway in the U.S. in terms of cargo tonnage, according to the American Association of Port Authorities.
