A contractor for Lee County Natural Resources will begin on Monday, November 27, a project to restore sand to about 320 feet of beach at Crescent Beach Family Park, 1100 Estero Blvd., to repair damage from Hurricane Irma.

Portions of the park will be closed for safety reasons during the project, which could take up to 30 days depending on the weather, said the county in their release.

Funding for the project will come from money set aside for beach renourishment from Lee County’s Tourist Development Tax on lodgings.

Lee County Natural Resources oversees programs focused on the protection and management of natural and water resources through beach preservation, well permitting, water conservation, water quality inspections and monitoring, flood protection, waterway/marine resources, hazardous waste management and pollutant storage tanks programs.
