2017 WAMSI Research Conference

The 2017 Western Australian Marine Science Institution Research Conference was a great success sharing the results of the institution’s dredging node, one of Australia’s largest and most successful single issue marine research programs, reports WAMSI.

The conference showcased the science, findings, outcomes and products to managers, researchers, industry and government stakeholders.

The 2017 Research Conference was a great success moving us into the final stages of the Dredging Science Node and the Kimberley Marine Research Program – developing the synthesis and knowledge transfer,” WAMSI said.

This week, the institution will launch the WAMSI report on Research and Information Priorities for Estuary Management in southwest Western.

The institution also announced that after almost five years of dedicated service as the Chair of WAMSI, Naomi Brown will step down at the end of 2017.

As we wish Naomi all the best in the future, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Millington into the position and we look forward to advancing the Blueprint for Marine Science and WAMSI in 2018,” WAMSI said.
