Swansea Boat Ramp Redevelopment Project Complete

Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Darren Chester was today at Triabunna to celebrate the completion of the $1.3 million Swansea Boat Ramp redevelopment project.

According to the Minister, the boat ramp redevelopment was the final phase of the $1.55 million Lower East Coast Marine Infrastructure project.

This investment will boost economic growth in the region for many decades to come and that will help create more jobs,” Mr Chester said.

Senator for Tasmania Jonathon Duniam also joined the community for the official opening and said that the project will improve marina safety, particularly during launch or arrivals and night navigation.

Tasmanian Minister for Infrastructure Rene Hidding said that the Swansea Boat Ramp works included a new double lane boat ramp, jetty, extension to the lower landing jetty, and installation of a breakwater wave deflection screen.

This infrastructure provides all tide access for not only commercial fishermen, but also a large number of recreational anglers, making Triabunna the place to be when you plan your next fishing adventure,” Mr Hidding said.

The Lower East Coast Marine Infrastructure project was jointly funded by the Coalition Government ($850,000) with the Tasmanian Government contributing to the Swansea Boat Ramp component ($700,000).
