Adani Expands Dredging Fleet with Two TSHDs

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has announced the addition of two new 8000m³ trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHDs) to their dredging fleet.

Both TSHDs have arrived at Adani’s Hazira Port in Gujarat after their maiden voyage through the Suez Canal route, local media reports.

The dredgers have been registered under the Indian flag and classified under the Indian Register of Shipping, according to Karan Adani, CEO, APSEZ.

The TSHDs, named Shanti Sagar 17 and Shanti Sagar 18, were constructed by Royal IHC under the special survey of Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) and all the Statutory Certificates are issued by IRClass on behalf of St. Vincent & Grenadines Flag.

According to the Indian Register of Shipping, the dredgers are built in compliance to the applicable IMO requirements including SOLAS, MARPOL, Loadline and MLC 2006.

With these new dredgers, the company’s fleet strength has gone up to 19 dredging vessels.
