The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, will host informational outreach event featuring discussions about coastal processes, erosion, water levels and the Corps’ programs and regulations.

This event, set to take place on Thursday, May 24, at Lexington State Park, will discuss: water level regulation and forecasts, coastal geology and erosion, regulatory program and permitting requirements, planning programs and authorities with an interactive beach walk to illustrate these coastal processes.

According to the official announcement, the forum will provide an opportunity to interact with Corps personnel to discuss erosion and working along shorelines; such as when a permit is required from the Corps; and if there are Corps programs that can help.

Speakers are Corps’ Detroit District team members from the Great Lakes Hydraulics & Hydrology, Regulatory and Planning offices led by Jim Selegean, Ph.D., hydraulic engineer, Great Lakes Hydraulics & Hydrology office.
