VIDEO: Importance of Braddock Bay Restoration Project Highlighted

The Braddock Bay Ecoystem Restoration Project is a major Buffalo District project located in Greece, NY outside of Rochester.

The project involved creating a new barrier beach to protect the shore from aggressive wave action, and restoration of the emergent marsh area. This restoration program also involved removal of targeted invasive species and excavation of new channels and potholes to increase habitat diversity.

Implementation of the Braddock Bay Ecosystem Restoration project began in winter of 2016 with the excavation of approximately seven acres of channels and potholes within the existing marsh.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, has just released this very interesting video about the Braddock Bay Ecoystem Restoration Project.
