Under a $1.1 million contract, the Romanian dredging company Complex Delta, S.R.L. will conduct a significant amount of dredging works at ports of Izmail and Reni, also located on the Danube River.

Commenting the latest news, USPA acting CEO, Mr Raivis Veckagans, said that the main purpose of the Izmail and Reni dredging program is to improve navigation and also to ensure shipping safety.

During the dredging project, Complex Delta is set to remove approximately 200.000m³ of material from these ports by using two dredgers and two self-propelled dredge barges.

Conducting these dredging works aims to guarantee for state stevedores and private companies operating in Danube ports safe passage of vessels and will contribute to the stable operations of these ports, concluded the CEO.
