H&L Contracting Bags Montauk Harbor Dredging Contract

H&L Contracting, LLC of Bay Shore, NY, has won a contract for the maintenance dredging of Lake Montauk Harbor, New York.

According to the FedBizOpps, the $776,553 contract was awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District.

The project calls for the maintenance dredging of the Montauk Harbor channel and deposition basin. The sand to be removed during the works will be placed along the adjacent beach just west of the west jetty.

USACE expects that during the project approximately 45,000 cubic yards of sand will be dredged from the harbor.

Dredging would be required to a depth of -14 feet Mean Lower Low Water plus 2 feet of allowable over depth. The dredged material is greater than 90% sand,” reported the Corps.

Lake Montauk Harbor is located on the south fork of eastern Long Island, Suffolk County, NY. The harbor opens to the north into Block Island Sound through an inlet stabilized by two jetties.
