River Rom Restoration Plans on Display

Final plans for the £245,000 River Rom restoration project will be displayed at a launch event in Grenfell Park this weekend, the London Borough of Havering said in its latest announcement.

The restoration, part of the River Catchment Project, aims to improve the physical condition of the River Rom, reduce the risk of flooding and provide ecological benefits.

The project area will include Grenfell Park and parts of the Chase Local Nature Reserve.

This restoration program forms part of the Land of the Fanns Landscape Partnership Scheme which aims to deliver 26 projects in five years across Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Thurrock, Brentwood and areas of south-west Essex.

The London Borough of Havering said in its statement that the meeting for the final plans for this very important restoration project will take place at Grenfell Park from 10am until 2pm on Saturday, September 15.
