Port Blandford Marina Development Proposed

The Small Craft Harbors Branch of the Fisheries and Oceans Canada has submitted a proposal for an environmental assessment of the Port Blandford Marina Development project.

According to the release issued by the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment, the project calls for the construction of a new wharf, concrete launchway, and a 163 meter breakwater at the Port Blandford.

The project will also involve dredging of the harbor basin with an approximate footprint of 4540 square meters. The project is expected to provide improved launch facilities and wharf infrastructure, and necessary protection for marina infrastructure at the facility.

The undertaking was registered on October 23, 2018, and the deadline for public comments is November 29, 2018.

The Minister’s decision is due by December 7, 2018.
