Cleveland Harbor Dredging VIDEO

Jess Levenson, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District Public Affairs Specialist, recently reported on the Cleveland Harbor dredging project.

In a video, which was released last Friday, Levenson updated on the Cleveland scheme that will provide a safe and navigable channel throughout the Harbor.

The Army Corps estimates that approximately 200,000 cubic yards of material will be removed from the harbor’s bottom,

The material taken during the Cleveland Harbor dredging is being placed at an off-site confined disposal facility.

The Corps’ navigation mission is to provide safe, reliable, efficient and environmentally sustainable waterborne transportation systems (channels, harbors and waterways) for the movement of commerce, national security needs, and recreation. USACE operates and maintains 140 navigation projects in the Great Lakes, including Cleveland Harbor.
