This terminal, located in central Vancouver, is one of the Port’s three container terminals, representing one fifth of its total freight movement.

This facility is operated by Dubai Ports (DP World), one of the main port operators worldwide, accounting for 78 terminals in 40 different countries.

The main aim of this project is to extend the terminal’s surface and to rearrange it towards increasing its capacity from the current 900.000 TEUs to 1.5 million TEUs annually. Likewise, freight movement and access to harbor area will be improved by building a fly-over and by improving and refurbishing the access routes,” the company reported.

According to ACS Group, the project will tackle the road congestion and it will improve efficiency by eliminating port traffic from adjacent roads. It will also avoid the three rail crossings used by port users while delivering continuous access to Highway 1.

The project’s investment volume rises up to €260 million approx. and it is expected to be completed in December 2021.
