USACE Hosts Charleston Peninsula Coastal Meeting

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District, is set to hold a public information meeting to explore concepts that could reduce risk from sea level rise, storm surge and tidal flooding on the Charleston Peninsula. 

This meeting will take place on Thursday, January 31st, at Citadel Alumni Center, 69 Hagood Ave., Charleston, SC.

The Charleston District is currently studying cost-effective, long-term solutions to reduce the risk of coastal flooding damages on the peninsula.

The meeting will provide the public the opportunity to learn more about the study process and schedule, to interact with team members and provide written and electronic input.

Remarks will be given at 5:30 pm by Lt. Col. Jeffrey Palazzini, Charleston District Engineer and Commander, and Mayor John Tecklenburg, City of Charleston.
