A touristic town in the South of Italy recently selected Dragflow’s DRP18 remote control dredger to restore the capacity of the city marina.

In this coastal town, the accumulation of sediments threatened the capacity of their small marina, the Italian manufacturer of dredging equipment said in its release.

Because of the progressive silting up, the number of boats that could be hosted was constantly decreasing. A serious problem showed up mainly because the resort was experiencing a growing phase of tourist development and more and more boats required access to the marina.

“We have proposed a DRP18 remote control dredger: the smallest and therefore most manageable model in the range. The DRP18 is in fact able to operate even in very narrow spaces and is very effective where other larger pontoons would not be able to arrive,” Dragflow said.

The small dredger, equipped with a 12.5S electric pump, can be used at regular intervals to cope with the phenomenon of silting. In addition, it will be able to carry out restorative work on the neighboring beaches, for example purpose-built nurturing after extreme weather phenomena.
