Lake Superior Dredging Project VIDEO

J.F. Brennan of La Crosse, Wisconsin, has just released a video from the Ashland Lakeshore Superfund Site cleanup project.

The 40-acre polluted site located on the shore of Lake Superior in Chequamegon Bay in the city of Ashland was used for various industrial purposes for more than a century and contains legacy toxins such as benzene and naphthalene.

J.F. Brennan was hired as a subcontractor to provide all water-based remediation services, installing isolation barriers, dredging and capping.

Dredging took place from land and barge-based excavators using GPS controlled scoops with special environmental buckets. Numerous environmental controls, safeguards and monitoring was put in place to ensure that sediment, air and water quality standards are met.
