Approximately 1.3 million cubic yards of beach compatible sand is being dredged from the Sand Bypass Dredging Area on the north side of Canaveral Harbor channel.

The sand is transported to the beach placement area south of the channel via a cutter-head hydraulic dredge.

Norfolk Dredging has completed half of dredging work and beach placement.

According to USACE, the project is scheduled for completion by end of April 2019 before the start of turtle nesting season.
