The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project managers and engineers attended the Hawaiian blessing ceremony earlier this week for the Corps’ emergency repair of the seawall at the Piilaau Army Recreation Center (PARC).

The $4 million project will demolish and replace 700 linear feet of the existing seawall that protects the PARC shoreline along Pokai Bay.

Kahus Glen Kila and Chris Oliveira of Waianae led the Hawaiian blessing for representatives of Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation, PARC management and employees, the U.S. Army Garrison- Hawaii Directorate of Public Works (Schofield Barracks), as well as contractors Custom Mechanical Systems and Goodfellow Brothers, Inc.
