According to CPRA, the event will offer attendees the opportunity to learn more about the Mid-Barataria and Mid-Breton Sediment Diversions – coastal restoration projects that will rebuild and sustain thousands of acres of vital wetlands in Plaquemines Parish and adjacent areas.

“We invite you to come see for yourself. You will have the opportunity to go on a boat tour of wetlands in Plaquemines Parish to see how the Mississippi River has already successfully built and continues to nourish existing wetlands,” said CPRA in the release.

Experts in science and engineering will be on hand to explain how sediment diversions will harness the power of the River to deliver sediment to rebuild and maintain the wetlands for future generations.
