The 22nd World Dredging Congress Starts in Shanghai

The 22nd World Dredging Congress & Exposition (WODCON XXII) officially kicked off today at the Shanghai International Convention Center in Shanghai, China.

The event is being organized by the World Organization of Dredging Associations (WODA), China Dredging Association (CHIDA) and Eastern Dredging Association (EADA).

Mr Polite Laboyrie, President of the Central Dredging Association (CEDA), opened the event by saying that WODCON is the place where the most knowledgeable and most dedicated dredging experts meet.

In his welcoming speech he said: “WODCON has a long tradition and forms the heart of the existence of our three sister organizations.”

The most dedicated people of our Dredging community are here travelling from all over the world just to be part of this conference, making WODCON an unique place to be,” added Mr Laboyrie.

Over the next four days, the conference will bring together industry experts and elites to discuss the prospect of the harmonious development between dredging and ecology.

The main theme of the WODCON XXII is “Enhance the Harmony between Dredging and Ecology” with the three main forums:

  • Environmental dredging makes the world a better place;
  • Towards a new era of intelligent dredging;
  • Sustainable dredging and marine economic development.
