The program comes on the heels of the town’s beach and dune replenishment less than a year ago, according to an official announcement.

The event will take place in Town Hall, 214 Garfield Parkway in Bethany Beach, DE, at 7 p.m.

The presentation will explore the benefit of sand dunes and dune grass and the protection they provide to the community and coastal ecosystem.

It will also examine their role as nesting habitat for coastal animal life, the function of dune fences, and the importance of keeping humans off them.

Since 2005 the Bethany Beach Cultural & Historical Affairs Committee has been sponsoring cultural events during the off season.
