The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District’s divers have discovered a submerged crest due to the high lake levels on Lake Erie of a critical breakwater in the Cleveland Harbor while inspecting the West End of the East Breakwater.

The submerged breakwater presented danger in the navigational channel to boaters, said USACE.

The District floating plant repair team was dispatched to set line of large stone to elevate the crest of the structure so that it was visible above water and no longer a hazard to navigation.
