Royal HaskoningDHV, who have strong experience and expertise in the coastal defense sector will lead the team, supported by Atkins and LDA Design for landscaping and public realm, informs the Southsea Coastal Scheme official website.

As reported, they will join the integrated delivery team immediately, providing further detail to the principal designs which have been shared and shaped through various public consultations held since 2016.

The scheme, which is being delivered through the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership on behalf of Portsmouth City Council, will protect more than 8000 properties and 700 businesses from the risk of flooding thanks to new seafront defenses along nearly five kilometers of coastline.

Commenting the news, Councillor Dave Ashmore, cabinet member for environment and climate change at Portsmouth City Council, said: “This appointment is a big milestone for the scheme and we’re looking forward to working together to protect the seafront we all know and enjoy”.
