Within Representative Fletcher’s 7th Congressional District, USACE Galveston District is currently completing a $75 million Addicks and Barker Dam Safety construction project, replacing the two dams at the Addicks and Barker reservoirs.

The Galveston District is also partnering with the Fort Bend Drainage District to desilt Buffalo Bayou, and organizing public scoping meetings for the Buffalo Bayou and Tributaries Resiliency Study.

According to USACE, this study will identify and evaluate the feasibility of reducing flood risks on the Buffalo Bayou, both upstream and downstream of Addicks and Barker Reservoirs in Harris County, Texas, while simultaneously completing a Dam Safety Modification Evaluation on the two dams.
