Man-made low water river crossings and the construction of levees along the Maumelle River are causing erosion and sedimentation problems in the area to be studied, located three miles west of Lake Maumelle on property owned by CAW.

According to USACE, these problems, combined with the loss of forests and the channelization of smaller streams in the study area, has led to an overall degradation of the aquatic ecosystem in the watershed.

The deadline for submitting the comments is August 30.
