The vessel – built at Royal IHC’s partner yard MTG Dolphin BV in Bulgaria, was handed over to the owner on August 2.

The design of the ‘Lesse’ is based on the earlier IHC-built trailing suction hopper dredgers “Albatros” and “Mahury”.

The dredger is equipped with the latest innovation in the field of overflow – the IHC Plumigator®, which will significantly reduce the sludge cloud around the ship.

As Dutch Dredging reported, the newbuild is expected to arrive in French Guiana around the 2nd of September.

After her arrival, TSHD ‘Lesse’ will take part in the maintenance dredging project in the ports of Cayenne and Kourou.

The twelve-year maintenance contract was signed by the Grand Port Maritime de Guyane and a consortium involving Dutch Dredging back in 2016.
