According to PLA, the dredging works will begin in the Dagenham area on 26th September 2019, and will last approximately 7 weeks.

The dredging will be undertaken using a deck mounted excavator and crane on a pontoon, which will be moored on rise and fall spud legs.

Barges will be moored alongside the pontoon in order to be loaded with excavated material.

The pontoon will be positioned by the tug ‘Emilie D’ which will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 14 throughout the dredging activity, said the Port of London Authority.
