OC Parks is currently initiating a Master Plan for the long-term vision of Capistrano Beach in Dana Point, California, highlighting emergency repairs on a stretch of infrastructure damaged by erosion and helping restore public access to the beach.

The First Master Plan Public Workshop is planned for Tuesday, October 22nd, from 6 to 8 PM at the OC Sailing and Events Center adjacent to Baby Beach (34451 Ensenada Place, Dana Point, 92629).

Prolonged coastal erosion, the lack of natural sand replenishment, and several years of wave uprush from high surf have resulted in significant damage to the sea wall, boardwalk, parking lot and other infrastructure at Capistrano Beach.

“In the short-term, OC Parks is taking measures to create a safe place that will be open to the public,” they stated in its announcement.

It is expected that the Capistrano Beach Park Master Plan will be completed by Spring 2021.
