The $770,000 project started in October and saw the Bayside Council moving 28,0000 cubic meters of sand from the spit near the Georges River 16ft Sailing Club at Sandringham to restore the beach at Ramsgate Baths.

The project was successfully wrapped up by the Gold Coast company Neumann Contractors and involved the mixing of sand and seawater into a mixer hopper from where it is pumped via a 300mm diameter pipe into the Baths.

Depending on wave and storm activities in Botany Bay over the coming years, it is expected that the beach will remain in place for at least 10 years.
