Last Friday, June 19, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc mobilized their project team to V. Rakeedhoo harbor construction project .
The project which received EIA approval on 26th December 2019 involves the design and construction of the new V. Rakeedhoo harbour.
Overall, the works will involve dredging and excavation of 5,645cbm; the construction of a 156m long breakwater; a 164m quay wall, and a 74m revetment.
According to MTCC, the project which was awarded on 1st October 2019, is estimated to cost around $1.2 million.
The deadline for the completion of this project is October 2020.
