Mike Hooks, LLC, has won a $13m contract to perform maintenance dredging in the Calcasieu River and Pass.

Commenting the latest news, Ashley Kerns , Vice President of Mike Hooks, said: “The US Army Corps of Engineers is one of [our] principal clients and we regularly perform dredging projects for them from Texas to Florida.”

“We appreciate the opportunity to provide these services and facilitate commerce for communities all across the Gulf.“

The project involves dredging of approximately 1.9 million cubic yards of maintenance material from the Calcasieu River.

Also, nearly 12 miles of dike construction will be included in the contract.

However, the project is scheduled to start in early 2021 and be completed by next summer.
