Dredging equipment is always subject to wear – as is this submersible slurry pump.
By pumping sand and gravel continuously wear parts – pump casing, impeller, wear plates – are in contact with the dredged mixture.
As a result these wear parts need checking at regular intervals, and when they have become too thin, they have to be replaced.
This video shows how to replace the dredge pump casing – that is the outer housing, or shell.
A step by step explanation shows how to safely exchange the parts. The video is applicable for all types of DOP sand suction pumps as their basic design is identical.
