Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has officially started land reclamation works at R. Dhuvaafaru.

For this task, the company sent their trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Mahaa Jarraafu.
The project was contracted to MTCC in November 2020. MTCC CEO, Adam Azim, signed the contract on behalf of the company, while the Director General of Planning Ministry, Fathimath Shaana Farooq, put her signature on behalf of the Ministry.
According to MTCC, the scheme is set to be completed with 445 days.
