A long stretch of beach, an airport and a flourishing port – the city of Ostend has it all.

Jan De Nul and Soetaert have expanded the access channel and strengthened the slopes. Now the port can develop into a hub for vessels of up to 200 meters.

In this very interesting video, Project Manager, Bert Vanmassenhove , is taking take us on a tour on site in Ostend.

This project is part of a large investment program by the government of Flanders to protect the city of Ostend from flooding and to support and optimize the port’s growth.

It is the final piece of maritime development of the Flemish integrated plan for coastal defense and maritime accessibility of Ostend. Both the port and the city will benefit, said Jan De Nul.
