Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co. LLC (GLDD), from Oak Brook, Illinois, has won a $28.5 million firm-fixed-price contract for rehabilitation efforts for the Panama City Beaches Coastal Storm Risk Management Project.

Bids were solicited via the internet with four received, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) said in its latest announcement.

According to DoD, work will be performed in Panama City, Florida, with an estimated completion date of April 30, 2022.

The Panama City Beaches Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Project is located on northwestern Florida’s Gulf of Mexico shoreline, approximately 70 miles west of Tallahassee, Florida, and 150 miles east of Mobile, Alabama.

Sand for the rehabilitation of Panama City Beach will be dredged from a borrow site. All work will be constructed by the dredging contractor utilizing primarily hopper dredges.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, is the contracting activity.
