JDN’s newest and biggest CSD was launched in August 2017 at the shipyard Uljanik in Croatia.

The handover of the Willem van Rubroeck was planned for autumn 2018, but the construction and delivery of the vessel was delayed due to the reorganization and, later, bankruptcy of the Croatian shipyard.

In 2020, the vessel was taken to Remontowa shipyard in Gdansk, Poland, where she was finally finished.

The powerful lady is 151.3 meters long and has an installed power of 41,346 kW. With three 8,500 kW dredge pumps and 8,500 kW of cutter power, CSD Willem van Rubroeck is able to dredge compact sand, clay and rocks up to 45m deep.

At the moment, the vessel is on its first assignment in Mauritania, working for developer ARISE Mauritania on the deepening of the access channel, the port basin and the new berth alongside the new ARISE port terminal.
