Construction is well underway at the Spoilbank Marina site in Port Hedland.
According to Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA), the long-awaited marina will alleviate demand on existing boat launching facilities, and improve access and safety for recreational boaters.
MGN Civil is progressing bulk earthworks, which to date have included clearing vegetation from the site and compacting material to establish ground levels. This week, the first delivery of rock was made to the site, in preparation for breakwater construction.
The latest project update said that they will also be re-purposing some quality granite rock sourced from the site for the breakwaters.
The marina is expected to be completed by 2024.
