The Abu Qir port project in Egypt, undertaken by DEME Group, is moving forward according to schedule.
The largest ever dredging and land reclamation contract in DEME’s history includes the reclamation of 1,000 hectares of new land.
It also involves deepening of the port’s approach channel to 23m and dredging of a turning basin to 22m.
This beautiful photo shows two giant cutter suction dredgers (CSDs) Amazone and D’artagnan during their work on this massive project.
This ambitious program will create land for the expansion and further development of Abu Qir.
The project is due for completion in 2023.
