The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District (USACE), in coordination with Miami Dade County and Bal Harbour Village, will host a virtual public meeting October 12, 2021.

This meeting starts at 6:00p.m. and will provide an opportunity to address the scope of work for the Bal Harbour beach renourishment project current status, future efforts and public safety.

“The objective of the meeting is to discuss coastal risk storm management including beach erosion control and hurricane surge protection,” said USACE project manager, Jaime Figueroa .

The project is scheduled this November for the contractor to place 110,00 cubic yards of beach-quality sand from an upland source, as well as 90,000 cubic yards dredged from the Baker’s Haulover Flood shoal complex, along the critically eroded shoreline of the Village of Bal Harbour.
