Two upgraded Bellarine Peninsula boat ramps are open, Labor Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville said.

“This week, Alison Marchant – Labor for Bellarine and I met with local boaters, the team from Better Boating Victoria (BBV) and Coast Guard Queenscliff at the redeveloped Queenscliff and Point Richards ramps to see how the improvements have made it easier to get out on the water,” Lisa said.

Boating access at Point Richards has been with a rock groyne built to help minimise the build-up of seagrass at the ramp so it can be used more often.

The groyne also features an excavator platform to make maintenance dredging easier.

Last year, boat preparation bays and 50 asphalt parking spaces were added at Point Richards, reducing queueing at the ramp and helping traffic flow freely.

To make boating even better on the Bellarine, the BBV team is also progressing with ramp upgrade plans at St Leonards.
