Ahmed Bashir, chairman of one of the largest private dredging company in Bangladesh – the Western Engineering Ltd (WEL) recently took a tour of the Royal IHC Kinderdijk yard.

Currently, WEL has a fleet of around 40 cutter suction dredgers, half of which are IHC Beaver dredgers.

According to Royal IHC, Mr. Bashir was received by a IHC delegation, led by CEO Jan-Pieter Klaver. The visit was used to discuss how to continue and further expand the fruitful cooperation of the two companies.

During the tour, officials discussed topics such as dredging performance, remotely monitored with Royal IHC’s operations monitoring system and training possibilities.

Furthermore, with the help of IHC financing partners and the Dutch Export Credit Agency, the two companies have successfully arranged a loan facility for WEL to procure Royal IHC dredgers. Mr. Bashir also took the opportunity to experience IHC dredge simulators.
